Centering three old European cut diamonds, weighing approximately 0.30 carats total

Accented by single cut diamonds (6) weighing approximately 0.10 carats total

All the diamonds appear white and eye-clean

The diamonds and are set in platinum with the remainder of the ring in 18 karat gold

Topping gold in platinum was first used in the 1890's. The invention of the oxyacetylene torch around 1895 by Edmond Fouché and Charles Picard allowed jewelry to reacher higher temperatures and gave jewelers the ability to cast and work with platinum in greater quantities and without gold. This led to the amazing platinum work you find in the Edwardian era.

The ring is fully signed Saunders and stamped 18ct
